Ardbeg 21 Year Old
Ardbeg Twenty One. A rare glimpse into Ardbeg’s precarious past. A shining example of its unwavering quality. At the end of the 20th century, distilling at Ardbeg had dwindled to almost nothing. Yet thanks to a handful of whisky enthusiasts with the belief and the vision to keep Ardbeg alive, a small number of casks were set aside. A young Mickey Heads, born and bred on Islay, was among those whisky enthusiats. Now he is Ardbeg’s Distillery Manager, and he is delighted to reward loyal Committee Members with this momentus bottling, which contains whisky distilled during those perilous days. Visitors to Ardbeg Distillery today are greeted by the very still that produced this magnificent whicky in the late 1990s. Now retired, she wears her history proudly, as does Ardbeg Twenty One.
